Now in its fifth year, The Journal of Advanced Appraisal Studies, edited by Todd W. Sigety, ISA CAPP and published by the Foundation for Appraisal Education, Chicago, IL. The Journal of Advanced Appraisal Studies is an annual publication written and edited specifically for personal property appraisers. The journal contains original research articles, reviews, and discussions of professional appraisal issues and concerns from a variety of perspectives, theories, approaches and methodologies. Wendell Garrett of the Magazine Antiques and Sotheby's auctions called the journal "Sound in scholarship, lively in presentation, sharp in focus. These articles bring to life the accuracy, interest and importance of judging and evaluating the practice of appraising. A must have for anyone in the appraisal field." In addition to developing and editing the annual journal for the Foundation, Todd Sight also contributed an article entitled The Quality Condition Adjusted Mean Methodology: A Comparative Valuation Tool for the Appraiser. The Journal was reviewed in the September issue of Maine Antique Digest. To read the review, click HERE. The Journal of Advanced Appraisal Studies is available for sale at www.appraisaljounral.org

The Appraiser Workshops is a joint venture between Todd W. Sigety, ISA CAPP and Jane C. Brennom, ISA CAPP of Houston Texas and International Society of Appraisers core course instructor. The Appraiser Workshops was developed to increase the knowledge and professionalism of personal property appraising. The first program, the Good, Better, "Best" Appraiser Workshop has been very well received by the personal property appraisal community. Both new and experienced appraisers have benefited from the two program which emphasis hands on property inspections in the shops of Washington Square Antiques, and includes discussions on client management from the time the call or inquiry arrives to delivering the final report. New appraisers gain confidence in dealing with clients and inspections, while experienced appraisers can fine tune their "qualified appraiser" status. Class sizes for the Good, Better, "Best" Appraiser Workshop are limited to 10, allowing for much discussion based instruction in an interactive learning environment. Other programs are now being developed. Visit the Appraiser Workshops website at www.appraiserworkshops.com
